RAYNERS LANE            6          WALLINGFORD & CROWMARSH        0                                  Buchanan 2                         Keita 2                         Shields Bubb                                                                                                                Rayners MOM: Frank Keita Rayners Lane came into this game in good form, having scored twelve goals in their two previous outings. In contrast, visitors Wallingford & Crowmarsh arrived at Tithe Farm having shipped five goals without reply against Chalfont St. Peter and the match went the way of the form book. New signing Marco Correia had an impressive debut and was into the action early on, crossing for Elliott Buchanan but the big striker didn’t quite connect well enough with his volley and the visiting keeper, Rueben Perry, gathered easily. This set the tone for the whole game as the chances came regularly, after long spells of Rayners possession and pressure. Troy Perez-Duah had a volley just wide, Kyel Reid put a fierce shot just over the bar, Callum Webb headed over from close range and Elliott Buchanan had another volley saved by Perry before Frank Keita finally broke the deadlock when he ghosted in at the far post in the 33rd minute to slide home Kyel Reid’s pinpoint cross. The home side thought they had their second not long after when Keita headed home Marco Correia’s cross but the linesman denied the goal with an offside flag. They did however increase their lead not long before the interval when the ever-industrious Sean Shields found Elliott Buchanan with an exquisite through ball which the striker didn’t have to break stride to collect and he coolly beat Perry from just inside the box. At half-time skipper Aaron Minhas came onto replace Hamilton Antonio, who felt a slight knock. Minhas was quickly into his stride and, alongside midfield dynamo Troy Perez-Duah, they pulled the strings in a dominant and controlled performance in the second period. Rayners only had to wait six minutes after the restart before increasing their lead when Frank Keita intercepted the ball and gave it to Elliott Buchanan who still had a lot to do but he cut back onto his left foot and put the ball into the bottom corner for his second of the game. The third goal was quickly followed by a fourth. A good spell of possession finished with Callum Webb breaking down the left and putting a teasing low cross in which found its way to the back post where Frank Keita tapped home. Rio Connell then replaced Frank and the tricky winger caused no end of problems for the Wallingford defenders with his direct approach and he was at the heart of all the action. It was one-way traffic by now and Sean Shields was the next Rayners Lane player to get on the score sheet, side footing home from close range after good work from Rio Connell. Bradley Bubb completed the scoring late on, another beneficiary of some good work by Connell, finish well from ten yards to seal a comprehensive win.  Come On The Lane! Rayners Lane – 1.
